Vectrexia is a browser-based Vectrex emulator that starts instantly, runs BUGS by Sean Findley, and links every canonical game to researched history, programmer credits, gameplay background, and named research and preservation sources.
The machine
The Vectrex is a self-contained vector-display console released in the early 1980s. Instead of drawing an image as a grid of colored pixels, its display steers an electron beam between coordinates to form bright points and lines. That direct vector presentation gives games such as Mine Storm, Armor Attack, and Star Castle their sharp wireframe look.
Commercial cartridges commonly used translucent screen overlays to add color, artwork, and interface labels. The system also supported unusual accessories, including a light pen and a stereoscopic 3-D Imager. Vectrexia runs the cartridge software in a modern browser, while clearly noting where a physical accessory or original overlay changes the experience.

WebGPU is the preferred renderer. WebGL2 and Canvas2D fallbacks keep the emulator playable on browsers or devices without WebGPU, while display controls tune beam width, persistence, bloom, scanlines, mask, tint, and brightness.
On phones and tablets, an illuminated on-screen analog thumbstick and four multi-touch action buttons sit directly beneath the Vectrex. Arrow keys or WASD control movement on desktop, Z, X, C, and V map to buttons 1–4, and compatible USB or Bluetooth gamepads can use the left stick, D-pad, and standard face buttons.
Built-in ROM files are compiled into the ASP.NET Core application and verified against cataloged byte lengths and SHA-256 hashes before play. Local ROMs can also be opened without uploading them to the server.

Each canonical game page now combines the playable cartridge with unique historical and editorial information: release context, programmer and designer credits when verifiable, publisher, genre, player count, gameplay background, variant notes, controller help, related titles, and named research sources.

Accuracy notes
A browser can run the cartridge code without reproducing every physical component of the original setup. Overlay art may be loaded separately. For 3-D Crazy Coaster, 3-D Mine Storm, and 3-D Narrow Escape, Vectrexia models the motor PWM, wheel-index sensor, and VIA synchronization needed by the cartridges; the original spinning color wheel and stereoscopic separation still require compatible physical hardware.
Light-pen titles can also require interaction patterns beyond a mouse or standard gamepad. Relevant title pages call out these limitations instead of implying that every original accessory is fully emulated.
