Development and history

Clean Sweep was written by Richard Moszkowski and released during the Vectrex launch period. Developer recollections also credit Jeff Corsiglia with the design. Its premise recasts maze-chase play as a bank president using a vacuum to recover stolen money.

Mr. Boston Clean Sweep is a promotional reskin associated with the Mr. Boston liquor brand. It retains the Richard Moszkowski maze-and-vacuum game underneath while changing branding and presentation; surviving sources do not separately identify a programmer for the promotional conversion.

This page uses one stable canonical URL for the title and loads its embedded ROM directly into the emulator after the Vectrex BIOS is ready.

Gameplay and background

Collect money, avoid thieves, and periodically return to the deposit box before the enlarged vacuum becomes too difficult to maneuver. Some rounds darken much of the maze, leaving only selected objects visible and increasing the importance of route memory. This edition changes the experience through its promotional variant behavior.

How to play in Vectrexia

  • Move with the Arrow keys or WASD. Compatible controllers can use the left analog stick or D-pad.
  • Vectrex buttons 1–4 map to Z, X, C, and V, and to the standard face buttons on most gamepads.
  • Press a controller button after connecting it so the browser can expose the gamepad to the page.

Audio may begin after the first click, key press, or controller input because browsers can restrict autoplay.
