Development and history
Vectopia was John Dondzila’s second 64 KB Vectrex cartridge, released in 2001. Packrat describes two principal games, a playable racing demo, an analog Spike revision, a controller test, and several early drafts.
The release is valuable as both entertainment and development archive. It exposes finished games beside experiments, showing how ideas moved from technical prototype to complete cartridge during the modern homebrew period.
This page uses one stable canonical URL for the title and loads its embedded ROM directly into the emulator after the Vectrex BIOS is ready.
Gameplay and background
Select among Wormhole, Trakkers, Vectropolis 500, Spike’s Water Balloons Analog, controller tests, and draft programs. Controls and player counts vary by the selected item.
How to play in Vectrexia
- Move with the Arrow keys or WASD. Compatible controllers can use the left analog stick or D-pad.
- Vectrex buttons 1–4 map to Z, X, C, and V, and to the standard face buttons on most gamepads.
- Press a controller button after connecting it so the browser can expose the gamepad to the page.
Audio may begin after the first click, key press, or controller input because browsers can restrict autoplay.
