Development and history

Tour De France is cataloged as a 1983 prototype and credited to Mark Indictor. It did not become a normal commercial Vectrex release during the console’s retail life, but a binary survived and later appeared through preservation and modern cartridge channels.

The title broadens the picture of what GCE was experimenting with near the end of the platform. Alongside racing, football, soccer, and pinball, a cycling game suggests the team was still exploring sports concepts when the market collapsed.

This page uses one stable canonical URL for the title and loads its embedded ROM directly into the emulator after the Vectrex BIOS is ready.

Gameplay and background

Treat the cartridge as a preserved work rather than a fully documented retail product. Its cycling controls and race structure are playable, but surviving public documentation is thinner than for boxed commercial releases.

How to play in Vectrexia

  • Move with the Arrow keys or WASD. Compatible controllers can use the left analog stick or D-pad.
  • Vectrex buttons 1–4 map to Z, X, C, and V, and to the standard face buttons on most gamepads.
  • Press a controller button after connecting it so the browser can expose the gamepad to the page.

Audio may begin after the first click, key press, or controller input because browsers can restrict autoplay.
