Development and history

Web Wars is the North American name commonly associated with the program also released as Web Warp. VGDB credits William Hawkins, Duncan Muirhead, and Patrick King for the 1983 Vectrex title.

The title’s 3-D-looking web and scaling enemies demonstrate how the Vectrex could imply depth with very little memory. Vectrexia preserves separate searchable pages for both historical names while explaining that they are closely related presentations.

This page uses one stable canonical URL for the title and loads its embedded ROM directly into the emulator after the Vectrex BIOS is ready.

Gameplay and background

Aim through the web, shoot incoming enemies, and respond to targets that change scale as they approach. The vector display makes distance readable through size and motion rather than textured scenery.

How to play in Vectrexia

  • Move with the Arrow keys or WASD. Compatible controllers can use the left analog stick or D-pad.
  • Vectrex buttons 1–4 map to Z, X, C, and V, and to the standard face buttons on most gamepads.
  • Press a controller button after connecting it so the browser can expose the gamepad to the page.

Audio may begin after the first click, key press, or controller input because browsers can restrict autoplay.
