Development and history

VGDB credits V-Frogger to Chris Salomon and dates the title to 1998; the preserved Vectrexia catalog labels its build 2001 and also credits Kurt Woloch for sound. The difference may reflect a later revision or distribution date.

The game is part of the late-1990s homebrew revival, adapting a famous raster arcade design to clean vector lanes and objects. It was later distributed through modern Vectrex cartridge channels.

This page groups 3 ROM editions under one stable URL instead of creating duplicate search pages for alternate dumps or revisions. The primary edition loads automatically; the other editions remain available in the in-app library.

Gameplay and background

Move the frog one step at a time through moving traffic and across hazardous lanes. Pattern recognition and patience matter more than continuous analog movement.

How to play in Vectrexia

  • Move with the Arrow keys or WASD. Compatible controllers can use the left analog stick or D-pad.
  • Vectrex buttons 1–4 map to Z, X, C, and V, and to the standard face buttons on most gamepads.
  • Press a controller button after connecting it so the browser can expose the gamepad to the page.

Audio may begin after the first click, key press, or controller input because browsers can restrict autoplay.
