Development and history
VGDB lists Rounders as a Ronen Habot project and notes support for an Atari driving controller. The preserved catalog build is part of Habot’s group of turn-of-the-millennium Vectrex experiments.
That controller requirement is historically important: homebrew developers often expanded the Vectrex by adapting third-party paddles, spinners, and trackballs, creating experiences beyond the original analog joystick.
This page uses one stable canonical URL for the title and loads its embedded ROM directly into the emulator after the Vectrex BIOS is ready.
Gameplay and background
Steering-oriented play benefits from rotary or driving-controller input. The browser emulator exposes standard joystick and gamepad axes, but the feel can differ from the physical controller for which the program was designed.
How to play in Vectrexia
- Move with the Arrow keys or WASD. Compatible controllers can use the left analog stick or D-pad.
- Vectrex buttons 1–4 map to Z, X, C, and V, and to the standard face buttons on most gamepads.
- Press a controller button after connecting it so the browser can expose the gamepad to the page.
Audio may begin after the first click, key press, or controller input because browsers can restrict autoplay.
