Development and history
VGDB lists Vectrexians as a Kristof Tuts work-in-progress, while the Vectrex Museum release archive lists a 2008 Vectrexians release. Vectrexia’s source ROM metadata uses 1999, so this page calls out the conflict instead of silently choosing one date.
The discrepancy may reflect an early build, prototype chronology, or mislabeled ROM. The programmer attribution is better supported than the exact release date, and the page marks the research status accordingly.
This page uses one stable canonical URL for the title and loads its embedded ROM directly into the emulator after the Vectrex BIOS is ready.
Gameplay and background
The program follows a fixed-shooter format with formations and incoming threats. Use horizontal movement and fire, while treating this ROM as one preserved build within a longer development history.
How to play in Vectrexia
- Move with the Arrow keys or WASD. Compatible controllers can use the left analog stick or D-pad.
- Vectrex buttons 1–4 map to Z, X, C, and V, and to the standard face buttons on most gamepads.
- Press a controller button after connecting it so the browser can expose the gamepad to the page.
Audio may begin after the first click, key press, or controller input because browsers can restrict autoplay.
