Development and history
Mine Storm II is tied to one of the best-known Vectrex service stories. Early Mine Storm code could fail at a very high minefield, and GCE supplied a corrected replacement cartridge to players who reached the problem. The Vectrex Game Database credits John Hall.
Because it was distributed as a remedy rather than a normal mass-market release, original Mine Storm II cartridges are scarce. Preserved ROMs and later multicarts have made the corrected progression much more accessible.
This page uses one stable canonical URL for the title and loads its embedded ROM directly into the emulator after the Vectrex BIOS is ready.
Gameplay and background
The basic ship controls and mine-clearing structure follow Mine Storm, but the cartridge removes the original high-level failure and continues the challenge. Treat it as the corrected continuation of the built-in game rather than a wholly unrelated sequel.
How to play in Vectrexia
- Move with the Arrow keys or WASD. Compatible controllers can use the left analog stick or D-pad.
- Vectrex buttons 1–4 map to Z, X, C, and V, and to the standard face buttons on most gamepads.
- Press a controller button after connecting it so the browser can expose the gamepad to the page.
Audio may begin after the first click, key press, or controller input because browsers can restrict autoplay.
